A - Level Spanish: Las Lenguas en España
This is a short lesson that can be used online or in the classroom (you can save it as a Google Slides file or any other software similar to Powerpoint. It contains:
Short introduction to Spanish Geography where students can label the different CCAA (Comunidades Autónomas) which could be good as a starter.
A vocabulary activity to work on cognates taken and adapted from the AQA A-Level book.
A three section reading activity to work on cognates that could be exploited to do some translation into English so students can compare and see differences between Spanish and Catalan, Euskera or Galician.
A listening activity with videos (a language that did not appear in previous activities has been introduced here: Aranese) where students can listen to (and see) different people talking different languages and they need to:
Identify the language.
Listening for the gist and write down some information about the speaker.
Rate the difficulty of the language (personal) and find examples to explain this.
