This lesson i use at the beginning of a food topic within DT.
This is a full lesson and includes:-
Key vocab with explanation
Discusses what happens when we do not have good food hygiene - food poisoning.
Explains about cross contamination and how to avoid it.
Include the importance of washing our hands

There is then a quick quiz of what they have learnt.
The task is to create a poster stating how we can prepare food safely
This powerpoint compares Oldham and Llandudno but can be easily adapted to a different rural town to match your setting.
After they have been through the powerpoint we had the children looking for similarities and differences between the two towns.
included is a power point which goes through facts about modern Greece.
it includes maps, and general facts for e.g. religions, countries that border, climate, economy
Then there is a worksheet with a map of Greece with some questions linked to the map.
This powerpoint explains what happens when alcohol is drunk on different parts of the body.
It discusses the negative effects on the body and also the positive.
It has facts on ages alcohol can be drunk and when and how alcohol is made.
After the powerpoint i gave the children a copy of the body and the children labelled the key parts and what the impact of alcohol is on each of these parts.
This powerpoint explains the style of Tingatinga and then includes and activity where they use the style of Tingtinga to create their own paintings in his style.
This powerpoint is for KS2 it goes through the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb.
It starts by discussing who he is and why he is famous.
It introduces Howard Carter and Lord Carnavon and the dates at each point of the excavation.
It goes through each part of the tomb and what was found in each part, it has a map of each section.
This could be used as a stimulus for a topic session or for a writing session.

This is the first lesson about Ancient Egypt - It introduces the Egyptians and include a timeline of key events.
It discusses how Egypt used to be split and how these were united.
It explains the difference between the three kingdoms and what happened at them times.
Lastly it talks about how Cleopatra was the final pharoah and who took over after her.
This includes three activities that are linked to the slides, i normally print out the powerpoint for the class then they have all the information needed for the lesson.

Ancient Egyptian Gods - discusses the early god Atum and what the Egyptians believed about him.

This lesson explains how trade happened in the Ancient Egyptian times and what they would buy and sell.
Discusses trade agreements with other countries and what would happen if they did not trade.
How they would take trade to different settlements and which way would have been best for them

All of the information to answer the questions in the activity are on the powerpoint
Discusses the types of paintings found at that time and where they were - in tombs and papyrus was used
Gives a background about this.
Goes into how the paintings had a profile and frontal view - has examples.
Includes list of colours used and why they were used (what they represented)
Looks at the symbols some of the gods, then has a variety of gods for the children to choose from for their drawings and the hieroglypihcs which need to be present in the picture
Has an example of how to set out their sketch books as a practise of skills before they complete their painting.
This would take either two lessons or one longer art session with the sketch book completed first and then their own picture created after either on brown paper or have another lesson creating their own papyrus to paint on.
This is a whole lesson which includes information on a powerpoint and then activities. I normally print off the powerpoint for the children to use while answering the questions.
This powerpoint discusses daily life in Anglo-Saxon Britain for e.g water/ toilets/heating/eating and farming
There are then 5 activities around this - children have to write about how water was collected and used.
