This powerpoint has been written so that it could be taught in a unit about Islam. It starts with a discussion on some European countries banning the Burkha and I would add a newspaper screen shot onto this page. It then discusses Ramadan and looks at whether over 14’s should fast in school, discusses Eid al-Fitr and should this be a public holiday? This has been designed as an activity that can be played on the school field. This task is designed to build their knowledge of food waste. Students get in teams to find the clues. They then answer the questions from each card. The first team back win.

This lesson has been written for the teaching of OCR Child Development. It could be used for remote learning and links to the book (but it is not needed for the lesson) It forms the basis of R019, L01, 1.2. The PowerPoint starts with an introduction to travel equipment and thinking about hazards. Students create a mood board. The PowerPoint then talks through the factors associated with choosing equipment. They create an information document about the factors.
