This lesson introduces learners to different methods of making payments. There are quite a few methods to remember, so an engaging activity here which can be used in two ways - a kinaesthetic matching activity where students match the payment method to their definitions, pros and cons OR the information can be placed around the class and students can be in grous focusing on for example, just finding advantages of certain payment systems or just definitions (for differentiation too).

This set of resources includes 1x ppt, 4x word files and can be delivered over 2-3 lessons and introduces learners to the importance of business planning. We start by looking at what’s included in a business plan and the purpose of creating one, a group matching cards activity to consolidate the contents of the business plan. This is consolidated with activities.
Students then have the opportunity to develop a business plan, a template is provided which can be shared with them on the computers. Extra structure for this activity can be given with the different businesses provided so students have a particular focus. a 12 mark question on business planning, with structure guidance and a concise model answer is provided.

4.2 and 4.3 have been joined to provide a clearer delivery of the topics i.e. capacity utilisation calculations (4.2) and how to improve capacity (4.3) etc.
Learners are introduced to the concept of capacity in business, how to calculate capacity, problems of too low or too high capacity and how to improve capacity. In the next powerpoint we look at, efficiency, unit costs, lean production, just in time vs just in case and labour productivity - calculations and how to improve these aspects in business.

This double lesson introduces learners to the various types of trading agreements that exist such as free trade agreements, customs union, common market and monetary union. We look at each with real life examples, a few video case studies to bring these trading agreements to life. We look at the pros and cons of regional trade agreements before reading a case study on RCEP - with an exam question and answer to look at. In the second part of the lesson we focus on the world trade organisation, its benefits and why the protests happened ‘Battle in Seattle’. Two box plenaries to finish with.

In this double lesson, we focus on resistance to social influence including dispositional reasons (locus of control) and situational reasons (social support). We start by completing Rotter’s questionnaire so students get an idea of where they stand on the locus of control continuum. We go through the theory, some video clips, true or false style questions, 4 mark exam style question with answer, evaluation activity.
In the second part of the lesson we look at the London riots in 2011 to illustrate resistance to social influence through social support. We recap Asch and Milgram’s studies which highlights social support as an important factor in resistance. Finally, we work on developing essay writing skills plus a 16 mark question. We finish off with a debate, MCQ and box plenary.

Media influences on aggression
In this lesson, learners are introduced to institutional aggression in the context of prisons.
We start by distinguishing between dispositional and situational explanations by looking at the importation model and deprivation model of aggression in prisons. We look at sub-cultures within prisons. Institutional aggression
In this double lesson, learners are introduced to social psychological explanations of aggression with a focus on de-individuation as an explanation of aggression.
We start by watching Derren Brown’s gameshow to introduce the concept of deindividuation (this can be watched before hand or at home for students), we discuss some research into deindivdiuation before trying out a brief experiment in class. True or false questions, MCQs, evaluation task, 4 mark exam style question with answer, 16 mark exam style question with indicative points, peer assessment grid to reflect on WWW and EBI for improvements, roleplay task, debate task, kahoot quiz and we finish with a box plenary.

Deindividuation - social psychological explanations
In this lesson, learners are introduced to desensitisation, disinhibition and cognitive priming.
We start by having a discussion on how some professionals do their jobs that might be hard for general people due to sensitivity i.e surgeons. We then look at the concept of desensitisation, disinhibition and cognitive priming with research. We watch a trailer of straw dogs which builds into the straw dogs case study. Evaluation task and follow up discussion, MCQs, PEEl task, debate task, group presentation on the unit, kahoot quiz and we wrap it up with a box plenary!

Desensitisation, disinhibition, cognitive priming
In this lesson, learners are introduced to the fourth and final psychological explanation of offending - Psychodynamic explanation
We start by discussing how childhood attachments and relationships might influence offending behaviour later on in life. We then briefly look at the id, ego and superego, with emphasis on the different types of superego, which influence offending behaviour. We look at defence mechanisms, Bowblby’s maternal deprivation theory and his 44 juvenile thieves study. True or false questions, evaluation task and discussion, PEEL paragraph practice, MCQs and we finish with a box plenary.
