This set of resources includes 1x PPT, 2x word files and a video clip. We start by watching a clip on discrimination at work before looking at the various types of legislation that exists to protect consumers and employees. A matching consolidation activity followed by a case study on an electronics manufacturer, students have the opportunity to consider whether complying with law outweighs not complying with law - 12 mark question with structure guidance and a model answer. Students can self or peer assess with the marking grids before engaging in a kahoot, finally ending with a box plenary.

This lesson introduces learners to what a stakeholder is, we discuss examples of stakeholders, students consider the stakehodlers of their school, we then go on to look at the different interests of the stakeholders. Some consolidation activties such as matching stakeholders to definitions or a more challenging version included.
Students consider the most important and least important interest for each stakeholder before going on to complete a 6 mark analyse question on Apple. A model answer is given with context highlighted in red - to help students build this important skill. Finally we look at conflicting interests of stakeholders with examples.

This lesson introduces learners to what factors start ups might consider when choosing a location to start up, we then look at key factors that determine the location such as proximity to customers, labour, transport and more. A 3 mark question with a model answer to peer assess. Finally an engaging group activity where a case study is given and some financial data about different locations, students then work together to calculate and discuss which location is the best to start up. Whole class discussion on the ultimate location. Students can write down their conclusions.
A ranking activity where students have to consider various factors that affect location, and then for different types of businesses, state which factors are the most important when deciding to locate.

This triple lesson brings together students’ understanding of macroeconomics from the whole course with a focus on fiscal, monetary and exchange rate policies, as well as supply side policies and direct controls. This could be delivered in a student led way, students present what they’ve learnt back to the class and then go through the slides and fill in any gaps in knowledge. Lots of video case studies for students to contextualise the macroeconomic policies. True or false quiz questions to consolidate understanding. A kahoot quiz on Theme 4 and a box plenary to finish with!

This set of resources can be delivered over 2-3 lessons and includes 1x PPT and 2x word files. We start with a practical starter to introduce job, batch and flow production methods. For each production method we look at real life examples such as a wedding dress for job production.
We then go on to look at cell production, productivity and efficiency, each with their formulas. We look at a case study of a chocolate manufacturer that uses batch production, a 10 mark question based on this, with structure guidance and model answer provided for students to peer assess and make improvements. A second 10 marker is included on lean production on a different chocolate manufacturer, again with guidance and a model answer - a good day for chocolate lovers!

This double lesson introduces learners to critical path analysis, quite a tricky concept to understand at first for a lot of students - but not with this powerpoint. We start with an engaging starter to contextualise the topic, then we break down the elements of the critical path such as node, EST LFT, activities and durations so that we can see how it is built. Guidance is displayed step by step how to work out EST and LFT.
Students have opportunities to practice completing and calculating critical path analysis, including working out the EST and LFTs, float times and the critical path. A kahoot quiz with a link to consolidate the first lesson’s learning.
We then look at the advantages and disadvantages of CPA, followed by a concise case study on the usefulness of using CPA (questions can either be calculations or essay based so both are covered here). Structure guidance and a concise model answer is given to help students improve their exam technique. A group task to construct a more challenging CPA and a box plenary to end with.

This lesson introduces learners to scenario planning, the last lesson for theme 3! We start by looking at some scenarios where unexpected events have occured, which impact businesses adversely, we then go on to look at general scenarios that can have huge impacts on businesses and their operations, before looking at a case study on Shell, they have been creating scenario plans for a long time, and actually have a scenario plan up till the year 2100!. A kahoot quiz on all of theme 3 to consolidate and enjoy.

This lesson introduces learners to budgeting, we start by looking at the purpose and types of budgets before moving onto variance analysis. An example calculation is demonstrated before students attempt a 4 mark exam style calculation question - answer is provided as well as an extra student answer for the class to identify where marks are given.
We then look at a fictional case study on Meerkat who has decided to leave ‘compare the market’. A 12 mark exam style question on the usefulness of variance analysis with structure guidance and concise model answer is provided. Students peer assess using the marking grid criteria before finishing off with a box plenary.

This double lesson introduces learners to the three methods of building public relations. We start by looking at some real examples of product placement such as Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the Power Rangers movie, we then look at the pros and cons of this method of PR. We then watch some TV adverts with celebrities endorsing products before going onto the pros and cons of this method of PR.
