Create a "Hand of Fatima" Art activity

Hi This resource can be used as a help sheet and students have the choice to draw onto the worksheet or into their sketchbooks. Ideally suitable for students aged 11 upwards The Hamsa Hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet symbolizing the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign. It brings its owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune. Often the “Fatima Hand” is decorated with an eye. It represents the eye that sees everything. Thank you

This is a really fun set of examples used with year 10 GCSE students on the theme of FOOD. This Powerpoint introduces them to Expressive and realism artists. Each lesson is broken down and the artist images are given. Artists used are Robert Joyner and Sarah Graham This set of work will last 2- 3 weeks and students can also produce an artist analysis page after the workshops. It has printable images/templates for students. The students absolutley loved this workshop and I enjoyed teaching it too.

How to create exceptional and confidence artist sketchbook pages

(0)
Hi everyone In this powerpoint I have broken down in easy straightforward student and teacher friendly language on how to create exceptional artist pages which demonstrate VISUAL and ANALYTICAL language. Assessment Objective 1: Develop ideas, Analyse, respond and demonstrate critical understanding: There are 27 slides: The first 13 slides are student artist sketchbook pages, which were graded in the top 2 bands, either confident or exceptional. Visual language/or an actual student study of the artist work is usually the key element which distinguishes the difference between A or A*. However: Critical understanding is still crucial, we as educators have to encourage our students to read about their artists so they can gain knowledge and learn about their artists in depth. There are many different writing frames/help sheets in this presentation because we have students of different abilities and therefore they need different help sheets. I hope that you find this powerpoint visually inspiring and useful in encouraging your students to create confident and exceptional artist pages Thank you

Hi everyone I have been teaching for 4 weeks now from home and I wanted to share with you how to create a voice over using Screencastify. I promise you it has changed my way of teaching and so far, the students have loved having the lessons delivered this way. It goes through the very basic steps of how to download and install the app, how to record, trim and how to download and share with your students. FYI: Anyone who is not very techy can do this. I have attached 3 files: 1: A 4 minute video demonstrating step by step instructions on how to use screencastify 2: The 4 minute video I used to show my Year 9 Art class 3: The Powerpoint for my lesson Any questions about this resource, please feel free to email me thestudentartroom@gmail.com Thank you Sarah
