This lesson was created to support lower prior attaining students grasp the concept of making inferences from sources. It teaches the skill through modeling and repetition. It was created to support learning to master the first question on paper 3 of the EDEXCEL GCSE History specification, but can be used for teaching inferences at any age and on any paper.

The resource contains 3 quizzes/word searches: The Tudors The British Empire The English Civil War There are also 3 differentiated searches for lower prior attaining students where the letter at the beginning of each word is highlighted in the grid so that this becomes more of a heads and tails activity. I have found using these useful revision/extension/remote learning resources.

This unit of work has been planned for a year 9 class to start to develop their skills and application of criteria relevant to the second order concept of significance in preparation for GCSE history. Student will study 6 key individuals who are all responsible to a certain extent for civil rights. The assessment for the unit will be to reach a conclusion about the significance of MLK in comparison with other individuals. The scheme is fully resourced, and contains a SOL and assessment. It has been designed to last half a term. Duration: 12 hours

The establishment and development of the Weimar Republic, 1919-January 1933. Each lesson is fully resourced and takes an hour to teach. The activities are varied and targeted at fully accessing all assessment objectives for success at A Level. Although a text book is desirable it is not essential, and there is sufficient information within the power points and on the resources to stretch and challenge A Level students.
