Prepositions of place lesson using Where's Wally

This is a lesson that I created for my bottom set Y9 class to help tem understand and use prepositions of place in complex sentences. It could easily be used to teach prepositions at KS2 and wouldn't take much adapting. Lesson uses Where's Wally as a stimulus for writing. Engaging activities to keep students enthused.

27 fully resourced lessons for teaching Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. All lessons ready to teach immediately. Covers a range of Learning Objectives for both Reading and Writing. Lots of context embedded within the lessons and uses plenty of non-fiction to engage students with the novel. Lessons follow text in chronological order and allows them to experience the whole text, but due to time frame some chapter summaries are used throughout.

AQA Paper 2 Q5 exemplar response - speech about growing older

Example answer to the following question: ‘Getting older is more fun and you can experience the finer things in life. It is much better than being a teenager!’ Write a speech explaining your point of view. Incorporates a range of language devices, sentence structures and more ambitous punctuation and vocabulary. Great for sharing with students and then asking them to produce their own response for an alternative viewpoint.

KS3 Reading and Writing assessment framework

These are the frameworks that I have put together to replace the use of level descriptors at KS3. The frameworks were made after careful study of the expectations at both KS2 and KS4. I have attempted to blend the two to form this framework for my KS3 pupils. The framework is divided into 3 sections- below expected, on expected and above expected- in the same way as KS2. These sheets can be glued in the front of books and used to aid marking.
