A reasoning and problem solving worksheet to use alongside the White Rose Maths scheme. Please note, this resource differs from my others, in that I have chosen not to differentiate it. I made this decision on reflection that all questions are quite open ended and therefore differentiation would happen naturally in the way children went about the questions. Answers are also included.

• Working Towards Expected Level: These children will focus more on basic shapes of squares and rectangles.
• Expected Level: These children will be working with whole squares and squares with a value of 1cm sq but will be using rectilinear shapes.
• Working at greater depth: These children could be challenged by asking them to use half squares and making the value of squares greater than 1cm sq.
