This resource includes: A Power Point presentation (for teachers) to show students with information about the festival of Las Fallas (Valencia, Spain). In the Power Point students will learn about the origin, the building of the structures and the most important events taking part place during the festival. This is a resource that I have created to help my GCSE students with their grammar, especially conjugating verbs. This resource has two sides (of an A4: The first sides contains 20 regular verbs conjugated in the first person. Also, this side includes a table with different opinion verbs in the present and the past. The other side has 20 irregular verbs, those that I consider the most common, also conjugated in just the first person. It also contains a table with some frequency expressions and time expressions. This lesson is aimed at a mixed ability group, therefore I have tried to keep the lesson simple and the activities not too difficult. For the wheel activity, show the ppt in full screen and sping the wheel by clicking on the centre. Each category is worth a different amount of points. Ask students to translate the sentence that they get after spinning and if they do it correctly, award them the points. The wheel is also editable so you can change the sentences if you want. This is a lesson I use with my Year 9 groups. We start GCSE a year earlier just so we have time to cover everything. We use the VIVA textbook foundation, although sometimes I use some things from the higher textbook too. This lesson´s focus is on describing a holiday in the past. There is a vocab presentation and a few interactive activities to do with them, then students can find some activities to do independently.
