A selection of lesson starters, created in MS Excel, targeting mental skills and strategies in a variety of topics including coordinates, fractions, decimals and percentages.
This application allows pupils to practice basic number operations through a series of easy to use mental maths operations. There are exercises on three levels; beginner, intermediate and expert, covering the four basic number operations together with exercises on multiplication and division by powers of 10. Each test asks ten questions on the selected topic and the pupil is provided with instant feedback as each answer is submitted. The pupil’s mark is recorded in the database to allow progress to be monitored. A traffic light form allows easy monitoring of pupil’s progress.
