This KS1 Maths lesson helps pupils to understand the concept of ordinal numbers. A series of activities reinforces the idea of first, second, third and so on. In the main activity, pupils have the choice of two races and place the competitors in a suitable order. Further activities teach higher ordinal numbers (from 11th to 20th). This resource is split into two parts. One part deals with pitch and the other with the loudness of sound. Through animations and interactive activities pupils learn: 1. that loud and quiet sounds are produced by big or small vibrations. 2. that high or low pitched notes are produced by fast or slow vibrations. The aim of this resource pack is to introduce pupils to capital letters and full stops. Activities include matching upper case letters with lower case ones and asking pupils to punctuate sentences correctly. The full stop is introduced and pupils have the opportunity to punctuate sentences with them. Pupils consolidate their learning on paper using the worksheets provided. This resource pack can be used to address sections 2.7 of English and 2.4 of the Welsh writing PoS of the national curriculum for Wales

This unit is made up of three mini interactive activities focusing on the properties of 3D shapes. The first activity is based on Euler’s theory. The pupils need to find a rule that links the faces, edges and vertices together. The interactive activity allows them to manipulate the shapes on screen to count the faces, edges and vertices. The second activity has them using their knowledge of the properties of 3D shapes to form a polyhedral chain. The third activity allows the pupils to investigate which edges will meet when a net folds to form a 3D shape.
