Early Finishers Choice Board FREEBIE

Early Finishers Choice Board FREEBIE

(0)
The activities in this pack could be used from upper primary to middle high school either as a review task, homework, or for early finishers. Students should each be given a task matrix which is marked each time a task is handed in so that they cannot complete the same task more than once each term. This freebie contains just the early finishers’ version of the choice board, and none of the accompanied sheets. If you would like to purchase the full version, you can do so in my store. In the full version I have provided matrix sheets with headings for review, early finishers and homework. I then keep a folder with all of the task sheets in somewhere in the room that students can access when necessary, or if using as homework or as a whole class review I will lay out the sheets for each task around the room so that there is not a queue of students waiting for one folder. Year 6 National Curriculum Science Passport

Assessment document with "I Can" Statements This passport can be given to each child in the class and used to keep track of their mastery of each science concept from the National Curriculum. I place a sticker in their passport when they have achieved the statement, but you could also tick for each time it has been shown, and then put a sticker over after a certain number of ticks, to show development of the skill. This is a great way for students to keep track of their learning through the year. I have used the statements from the curriculum as a basis to write my I can statements. This includes instructions to easily print as a booklet from Adobe Acrobat or Reader.

This task is designed to practice budgeting skills, and could be used in KS2 or lower KS3. There are two options for the tasks, page 6 is a general version, and page 7 is an alternative that could be used at the end of Year 6 when discussing starting high school. Students will need to be provided with either store catalogues which feature the items required, or access to the internet to get prices from store websites. I have given students free reign here in how to record their work, but you may wish to give them a template to follow, or some examples. No grading rubric has been attached due to the open nature of the task and the range of students it could apply to, but there is a brief mention to students of how they will be graded on page 9, which should help you start a grading rubric specific to your class. Story Planning Flip Book

This flip book was designed for me to encourage reluctant writers to plan their stories before writing. It contains flaps for title ideas, characters, setting, problem, other events and solution. Each section should be cut out and then glued or stapled together to make the flip book.

This activity can be done following teaching about penguins, or for older or more able students, it could be completed as a research activity or web quest. For a web quest, the students should be provided with links to the websites listed in the pack. The activity could also be extended by asking students to research another type of penguin, and using the additional cover page found on page 30 of this pack. I have provided you with a number of versions of this flip book, which are listed here, along with page numbers. I print these books with 2 sheets to a page, but they could be printed larger or smaller depending on preference. The books should be cut out around the outer lines, and glued or stapled where indicated. The versions included are: >Black line, blank (pages 5-9) >Full colour, blank (pages 10-14) >Coloured text, white background, blank (pages 15-19) >Coloured text, white background, scaffolded (pages 20-24) >Black line scaffolded (pages 25-29) Copyright Notice: This product is for personal, classroom use only.
