This lesson is a fun and unusual way of introducing the great powers in 1900 and getting pupils to think about International Relations. I took the idea from a version of this at my training school but this is 100% my own version of it with added ridiculousness. It is by far the best introduction to International Relations for KS3 I have ever done. I’ve also used it for Year 10 studying International Relations pre WWI and it worked very well. This lesson is an investigation lesson into potential reforms of the UK Democratic system to boost participation and engagement, make the government more legitimate and accountable and improve representation. These revision diagrams are filled in as knowledge organisers to use to help students plan out the answers to the 12 and 16 markers on the later slides. The first five are just knowledge and understanding ones almost like knowledge organisers but then the following ones are set up around 12 and 16 mark exam questions.
