Here is an Individual Target Tracker sheet I stick into the front of my student's ex. books.
I get my classes to regularly set themselves targets based on my markings and feedback I put in their books.
I then sign off their targets once they have evidence to prove where they have met them.
I reward my classes when they have reached a target they have set themselves.
Here is a powerpoint I used with my Year 11 tutees to revise with them their P2 exam (part of the AQA Science Double Award). This is part 4 of 10 powerpoints I used - look out for the others!
All content is linked directly to the AQA specification!
KS4 Vocabulary Here is a revision aid I put together for my Year 11 tutees last year. It was aimed at helping them understand the language of their Mathematics exam; what are they actually asking you to do?!
Mr. Collins' Maths Table Sheets - Collins City 5 Here is the fifth of the 'Collins City&' revision table sheets I use with my Year 11s as GCSE revision. Look out for the other &';Collins City' sheets and the &'Raymond Rovers&'; sheets.
Questions 1-5 are aimed at Foundation Tier
Questions 6-10 are aimed at Higher Tier
Here is an interactive Buzzer I made using the 'Family Fortunes' wrong answer sound clip. There is also a link to a multiple buzzer I found on the web which I use for team games in class with a student from each team up at the IWB answering questions. I also use this for the &'around the world&'; activity I run in class (see my blog for more info http://mrcollinsreflectivejournal.blogspot.com)
Mr. Collins' Maths Table Sheets - Collins City 4. Here is the fourth of the 'Collins City&' revision table sheets I use with my Year 11s as GCSE revision. Look out for the other &';Collins City' sheets and the &'Raymond Rovers&'; sheets.
Questions 1-5 are aimed at Foundation Tier
Questions 6-10 are aimed at Higher Tier
Here is the ninth of the 'Collins City' revision table sheets I use with my Year 11s as GCSE revision. Look out for the other 'Collins City' sheets and the 'Raymond Rovers' sheets.

This bundle includes: Order or Operations, Solving Equations & Substitution.
An engaging activity for students to consolidate their learning. Students answer the questions on the sheet and then, once they have the answer, colour in the corresponding section of the large grid to create a pattern. All details are fully explained in the resource itself, with lots of additional ideas as to how to get the best out of the resource, including: extension activities, challenge questions and suggested variations on the activity. All answers included
A set of 5 different pixelated images to create by joining coordinates. These resources are very popular on the TES and I decided to make my own for my students as I enjoy doing them just as much as they do. Included are: a heart, a ‘minion’ (from the ‘Despicable Me’ films), the ‘bat logo’, a Dragon (for St. George's Day) and ‘Iron Man’. All images include both a 1st quadrant only and all 4 quadrants set of coordinates so you can differentiate for your students’ abilities. All answers included
I have put together these sets of questions for students to practise their calculator skills ahead of the GCSE Calculator Paper. The questions involve students typing in a calculation into their calculators, writing down all the digits on their calculator display and then rounding their answers to a given number of either decimal places or significant figures. I aim to use these as a starter in each lesson/revision session leading up to the calculator paper. Answers included.
This bundle includes: Solving Equations (Unknowns on Both Sides), Solving Equations (Including Brackets &/or Fractions) & Evaluating Indices.

This is a 'Connect Thoughts' board. The task is played like the 'Connect 4' game where the class choose any 4 tasks to complete in a row. The rows of questions are leveled and is a great way to differentiate, I have found.
This notebook contains a whole lesson/number of lessons on using algebra to prove statements such as the sum of three consecutive numbers being a multiple of 6.
Starter activity includes writing expressions for certain numbers as well as expanding and simplifying brackets.
Lots of examples and investigative tasks for students to attempt. Questions to give to your students and plenary activities to review their learning.
2 Logic Problem puzzles themed around Christmas and Easter. Word and Excel documents included so you can create your own Logic Problems as well as using the ones included here. All answers included too (in the Excel files)
Here is a set of 4 'Thubbles' that I use every now and again to re-engage my learners. The idea is that the students fill in the thought clouds with an appropriate suggestion of what the characters are thinking! You get some rather interesting ideas! I used to use this in Cover lessons when I was waiting for work.
This is my fake class 'Twittter' page that I use once I have done a class 'Tweets' plenary.
In the Class 'Tweets' plenary I get my classes to write in a Tweet (140 characters) on post-it notes something they have learnt during the lesson that they did not know previously. The class then stick their post-it notes on the IWB on the way out.
I then type up their 'tweets' on to the powerpoint and show the class at the start of the next lesson to show the class what they learnt in their previous lesson
This is my Mathematics version of the TV show 'Pointless' for information as to how I intend to use this in class visit my blog posts http://mrcollinsreflectivejournal.blogspot.com/2012/02/pointless-powerpoint-to-use-with-data.html & http://mrcollinsreflectivejournal.blogspot.com/2012/02/pointless-datathe-results-are-in.html I am to use this as revision with my classes or as an end of term/topic activity.
NOW UPDATED WITH THE INCORRECT ANSWER &'X&'; BOARD!
These are a series of revision lessons I have put together following a literacy exhibition lesson I observed. The idea is that you show the students the 1st slide on each & ask what is implied by the image - what could they be asked to do in a GCSE exam question if they were presented with that image? Following their ideas, there are lots of different questions using the intial image. For more information on how I have used these with my classes see
