False memory as a factor affecting memory for GCSE Psychology

A basic/brief powerpoint which gives an overview of ‘accountability’ to professional bodies such as GMC/NMC/HCPC etc.

Students will learn what the roles of each health care professional has including doctors, specialist doctors, occupational therapist, care assistant, nurse, midwives. This will also outline the health care settings in which each of these work within. A powerpoint presentation (with activities and suggested answers) and matching task is included for the lesson.

Two 1 hour lessons. The first outlines & evaluates the Sapir Whorf Hypothesis. This includes:- knowledge retrieval starter Video to introduce the theory teacher led notes/discussion application task discussion & independent written task for AO3 The second lesson outlines our view of the world i.e. recognition of colour & recall of events. This includes:- practical activities to demonstrate research into this area link back to Sapir Whorf (i.e. how this research can be used to evaluate Sapir Whorf) 9 mark exam question on Sapir Whorf

A lesson to ouline Tulving’s Memory Gold Study (AO1 & AO3). This includes knowledge retrieval starter review of types of LTM comic strip OR study framework as an independent task

A lesson to allow students to outline & evaluate Piaget’s theory of language development. This includes:- A video to review topics from Piaget’s theory of cognitive development discussion around language development independent written tasks (with support frame/gap fills)

A 2 hour lesson to define conformity and outline and evaluate Asch’s study

A lesson to outline and evaluate Authoritarian Personality

An outline of social and dispositional factors affecting conformity.

A lesson to outline social and dispositional factors of bystander behaviour

A lesson to outline and evaluate Piliavin’s study on Bystander Behaviour

A lesson to evaluate Piaget’s theory. This should be complete AFTER the outline of the stages and the two key studies (Policeman Doll & Naughty Teddy)

An overview of ‘context’ as a factor affecting memory for GCSE Psychology including a summary of Godden and Baddeley.

A lesson to outline interference theory including a practical to demonstrate the theory.

One lesson to outline the effects of emotion with reference to the McGinnies study.

A two part lesson How expectation affects perception & outline of Bruner and Minturn Evaluation of Bruner and Minturn

Two lessons (approximately 45-60 minutes each) to outline monocular and then binocular depth cues.

A lesson to outline the difference between sensation and perception AND a brief introduction to visual illusions.

A two part lesson to first outline and then evaluate Gibson’s Direct Theory

An overview of ‘early brain development’ including parts of the brain i.e. cortex, thalamus, cerebellum, brain stem and an introduction to the influence of nature and nurture on brain development
