I am aware this may be challenging for KS3, however, used appropriately some parts of the book can be approached by top sets at this key stage. I recommend work on adjectives and look at family, school etc.. also for all key stages, you may want to focus on tenses, but better if you watch the movie as well , really great production and students can relate to this and the diary of a wimpy kid.

Just a bit of a revamp from ' spécial vacances' to support less able students, with opportunities to work on literacy through vowel gaps, pronunication and words snake, to learn the conditional and help in achieving levels 5. Use and adapt as you wish.

I attach two texts, two for the students to identify what makes a good piece of writing in French and one easier text for a trap door game ’ which can be teacher led ( teacher reads the text twice, students listen, memorize with pens down and then rewrite the text from memory and then translate . With the longer texts you may help students identify the good practice with the help of the mark scheme, I also tend to organize games ( in two, one with a pencil, one with a pen, teacher calls out a sentence, first pupil to circle the sentence, dominant colour on the sheet wins )

A PPt to teach the future tense suitable for 7th Grade. I tried to offer slides and handouts with this to get them thinking about the construction, rather than me telling them.

I have amended this power point I used last year with top set year 9 and KS4 classes and added more practice, consolidation of using the DOP and also tried to show how this works in higher level sentences and work. I will use mini whiteboards also to challenge and mix DOP with other tenses. The second presentation contains more support and details about how to use DOP with perfect and even negatives for top grades.
