VOUCHERS SENT to parents to buy shoes, trousers and tops are being ditched by Renfrewshire following Littlewoods’s decision to pull out of children’s clothing and footwear. Other west of Scotland councils are likely to be affected. The council will replace the vouchers with pound;50 grants and is to give parents freedom to buy uniforms through bulk purchase schemes or in local shops. Twenty primaries currently have a deal with a Paisley company to supply discount uniform.
