One hundred blind children lobbied Parliament this week for an increase in the number of large-print and Braille textbooks.
Research revealed that only 12 per cent of maths and 8 per cent of science GCSE textbooks are available in Braille and large print. Julianne Marriott, lobby organiser, said: “It’s nothing short of a scandal that these children are being denied something as basic as the right to read.”
