Teacher Aileen Hull nearly lost her voice at the end of last term, but her class at Pumpherston primary, West Lothian, saved it for her. Now we’re rewarding them with a box of fair-trade chocolate bars. They usually fizz with enthusiasm, but they were extra quiet as they listened to her whispered instructions, and obeyed the whistle every time in PE. At their suggestion the most confident readers took over reading the class novel to keep the story going. “They were so grown up about it,” says Aileen. If your class deserves a treat, email friday@tes.co.uk to tell us why, giving the name of your school and marking your message Dubble offer. For information on fair trade, go to www.dubble.co.uk.
