Ask pupils to locate the 15 member countries of the Security Council on a map. Allocate countries to pairs and get them to research some basic facts (life expectancy, main language, population etc). Ask them to compare the countries and find the two most similar and two most diverse, justifying their choices to the class.

Explore an issue with a global dimension via role-play - for example, the reduction of greenhouse gases from the point of view of Bangladesh, the US, China and Norway.
