The evenness of the middle zone and the baseline shows that she is consistent; people know where they stand with her. Although the script is embellished, it is not fussy and the simplified upper zone shows she thinks clearly and objectively.

All this hides a sensitive nature, which seeks harmony and security. She can operate effectively in public, while keeping her feelings private when she chooses.

The angularity of the script shows an analytical approach. She is thorough, even when she is busy. It is automatic for her to question things, and then plan how to proceed. She is a firm disciplinarian whose head rules her heart.

In spite of her attention to detail, she can work effectively under pressure.

Although she does not seek a dominant role where she has the responsibility for a large number of people, she does like to dispense information and advice. She appreciates having her own area of responsibility, is inependent and likes a challenge. She prefers to work within parameters, but is quick to use her own initiative.

Keeping my own feelings private when I choose - that’s me all over. And I am a firm disciplinarian - there are a couple of girls who would agree with that after I had a go at them this lunchtime. Having an area of responsibility but not wanting to take the whole thing on is very much a headteacher’s role. To some extent it’s nice, because it paints quite a positive picture. But all the people I’ve shown it to say it’s uncannily accurate.
