CHRIS Woodhead reminds me of some of my more academically-challenged pupils who sometimes complain that Shakespearean language is too complicated or that Marvell’s love poetry is too abstract. I try to “ure and coax” them (usually boys) with the idea that there are more things in heaven and earth than their own personal viewpoints.
