A school in Northampton unveiled its new library last week after a five-day Changing Rooms-style makeover based on designs by its pupils.
Four Year 8 students from Campion School in Bugbrooke won the design competition, organised by the British Council for School Environments (BCSE) and the construction firm Willmott Dixon.
Pupils were involved in all planning meetings and worked with professionals to turn their ideas into a final design.
Bob Clayton, Campion’s headteacher, said: “I am immensely proud of the contribution made by our young students. Their vision, combined with the commitment and energy of BCSE members, will ensure that our students will benefit from studying in a modern and inspirational learning environment.” RV.
