The Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment’s IT Certificate of Competence at Key Stage 3 won the Teaching Resources - ICT award at the Education Resources Awards ‘99 ceremony in Birmingham last month. The materials are intended to help teachers integrate ICT across a range of subjects and have been written to let non-specialists teach and assess the skills. Students receive a certificate of IT competence after completing a number of tasks. As well as improving pupils’ IT competence, the materials have also done the same for many teachers. The pack costs pound;50 for schools in Northern Ireland, and pound;75 for those elsewhere. Tel: Linda Hunter on 01232 261208.
