“From the first telegraph to the broadband age” is the slogan accompanying the Connected Earth project. This internet museum offers a number of education projects suitable for primary and secondary pupils. The latest addition allows younger children to “explode” a mobile phone and see how circuit boards, SIM cards and LCD displays interact with one another. It also reproduces ring tones from more than a century of telecommunication, along with some challenging worksheets. Older learners can see how changes in the technology have affected our interconnected world, as we have adjusted from the speed of the horse to that of electricity.
