DENMARK A 6,500-name petition protesting against the teachers’ working hours agreement has been handed to the teachers’ union, Danmarks LArerforening.
Under an agreement between the government, unions and education authorities, teachers have to log time spent on teaching and preparation (which should not exceed 630 hours a year) and “other activities” (up to 433 hours a year). However, teachers are finding the new system too bureaucratic and have discovered that not enough time has been allocated to “other activities”.
