Three books #TeamEnglish wish they could still teach

It’s the stuff of teacher nightmares. The English curriculum changes, and the books that you love teaching, the words and chapters that you know by heart are struck from the curriculum and your beautifully designed resources that accompany them are suddenly worthless. 

So, which books would teachers love to be able to teach once more? For the third day of reading Christmas, Tes enlisted the help of #TeamEnglish to find out. 

They reached out to English teachers across the country, and reported back with a definitive three. John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men,  Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird and RC Sherriff’s Journey’s End. 

And out of these three, which one was missed the most?

61 per cent of teachers voted for Of Mice and Men, 27 per cent for To Kill a Mockingbird and 4 per cent for Journey’s End.
