Voters in the Newington area of the capital are being invited to back Labour’s very own Frederick L Forrester, MA (Hons) DipEd FEIS, as the EIS manual describes the legend in his own lifetime.
The union’s depute general secretary is 65 next February and keen on an active retirement. “I won’t be a slippers in front of the fire man,” he told Jotter.
Once a member of the Social Democrats (remember them?), he quit when they merged with the Liberals and returned to the Labour fold. “I’m quite comfortable with new Labour,” Fiery states. But ever a union man, he declares: “I’ve not repudiated any EIS policy whatsoever.”
Union lefties should be out campaigning for the great man. He has promised to review his retirement date if elected in May.
