The latest update on how qualifications are to be delivered this year says that the final date for submitting provisional grades has been moved to take account of the switch to online learning, which is expected to last until at least mid-February.
Today’s update - from the National Qualifications 2021 Group, which includes the SQA, as well as education directors’ body ADES, School Leaders Scotland (SLS) and the EIS teaching union - acknowledges that “teachers, lecturers, parents, carers and learners have questions they would like answered”.
It states that “partners are working as quickly as possible in an evolving situation” and that the current priority for schools should be “maximising learning and teaching”, with assessment of learner attainment taking place “later in the 2020-21 session”.
