Unless you’ve been living under a rock - or avoiding the press completely (more likely) - for the past week or so, it won’t have escaped your notice that millions of pupils across the UK received their GCSE and A Level results this week and last.
Of course, on both GCSE and A level results day, focus in the media is firmly on the pupils themselves. Their achievements, especially in the wake of mass reforms to both qualifications, are remarkable. But although they sit the exam alone, in the months of learning, practising and revising in preparation, their teachers will have stood alongside them every step of the way.
We joined forces with our mental health columnist, Natasha Devon, to encourage users on social media to share the stories of the teachers who inspired, helped, entertained, comforted, understood or went above and beyond for the young people in their care. We echo the words of Devon when she says that “a grade can’t tell that story”.
Below are a selection of the amazing shout-outs shared this week. To immerse yourself in the full bubble of teacher appreciation, search #MoreThanAGrade on Twitter.
We’ll leave you with this tweet - which beautifully sums up how everyone in Tes towers felt when reading the tweets this week.
