Social Story to be used to encourage positive behaviour including “being nice” - this includes no hitting, screaming, pinching etc. Also refers to other things the individual can do to re-direct them and keep them calm and happy when they start to feel that their behaviour is escalating. A social story is a great addition to any social skill lessons as they help to support a child to make appropriate emotional choices instead of acting out reactively to anger.
