This Activity-A-Day Calendar is for a two week period which is great for school holidays or an intense short term intervention. True self-care is prioritising your mental, physical and emotional health to have a more complete and balanced life. Self-care is important to maintain a good sense of self-worth and allows you maintain a healthy relationship with yourself as it produces positive feelings and boosts your confidence and self-esteem. Self-Care also reminds others that your needs and wants are important too! This calendar provides students a wide variety of self-care ideas which they can utilize in the long term to develop healthy patters of practicing self-care. There are countless benefits of self care…from better productivity, better physical and emotional health, enhanced self-esteem and a better sense of identity! This resource will encourage students to explore each of these self-care ideas and reflect on the impact it has had on them, therefore allowing them to develop insight into self-care, it’s benefits and what works for them. We all know that starting the day right is very important. Having a good start to the day can make a positive different on the rest of the day as well. This “Start the Day Right!” program essentially means that at the start of the school day students will be given a choice as to how you would like to start the day in relation to the Good Morning Greetings. This program includes the following six options: Saying “Good morning” Giving a High Five Hug Wave Fist Pump Handshake This program will be a great way to build a sense of classroom community, unity, build rapport and a sense of connection with each other. To introduce this program into the classroom a student letter has been written explaining and introducing the program to students. There are visuals for each option included and you simply put the visuals on the wall and as you walk into the classroom students can choose which option they would like to use. This is a fun, colourful, quick and easy resource for early learners to incorporate CBT into sessions to support shifting a negative mindset into a positive mindset. Students will have fun talking about helpful and unhelpful thoughts and differentiating the two. Two visual buckets have been included to help students differentiate between helpful thoughts and unhelpful thoughts. Simply print each of the thought bubbles and you can brainstorm and reflect either as an individual, group or as a whole class where each of the thoughts belong. Laminate each of the thoughts and you can utilize this resource for years to come. This is a great activity that is versatile so can be used in many ways!
