This pack contains 6 weeks (30 days) worth of daily starter activities for KS2 Maths lessons. Each day, the children will either be presented with either a key number in the center of the slide, a time on a clock face, a 2D or 3D shape. They will then answer a series of differentiated questions involving word problems as well as their knowledge of the four operations, time and/or shape. Questions should be answered following the traffic light system with the green section being completed first, then the orange section and finally the challenge. Each daily slide also comes with answers for pupils to easily self-mark directly after the activity. PowerPoints can be easily adapted if necessary.

To conclude this unit pupils will practise writing descriptive sentences using comparative adjectives before editing their work to include fronted adverbials. They will learn the importance of a fronted adverbial as well as how and why these are used. Your class will become more engaged with poetry as they use their imaginations to visualise a range of different images when they ‘open a door’. They will then use these collaborative ideas to produce their own image poem (either independently or with a partner) before learning, rehearsing and performing their work during the final lesson. During this second week, children will explore the use of imagery within poems by learning how to create powerful images using all 5 senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell). They will have fun imagining themselves as ‘the classroom’ as they consider these senses. What would a classroom see and hear? They will then use their plans to create a poem called ‘I am a Classroom’ based on the poem ‘I am a Writer’ by Joseph Coelho.
