For KS2 and KS3, this is a pack of 3 fun printable activities, consolidating vocabulary from both French Classroom Objects (Les Objets de la Classe) and School (Mon Ecole / À l’école) topics. Lessons for these units can be taught and consolidated with my presentations, worksheets and puzzles, games and more – all available in my French Classroom and School Vocabulary BIG BUNDLE, which contains this pack of games, alongside 6 other packs.
However, for a small review of these units, you may only want these games. All are in PDF within a Zip file. My French basics / beginners resources are designed for Year 4, 5, 6 and 7 (and equivalents in other countries) but might suit others, depending on experience. SCHOOL PLAN DRAWING GAME
A flexible speaking game for pairs, groups, or whole class. Students listen to sentences describing the location of school items and draw quick sketches on their blank plan in the correct locations. Blank plans could be printed on paper for one-off use but perhaps use card and laminate if being used again (students draw with dry-wipe pens). Completed plans and sentences are provided for 4 rounds. You could set up mixed ability groups, with several students completing 1 plan.

**Further differentiation: **All 2-9 times table versions come in a differentiated format too, with sidebars added, featuring all answers listed in numerical order. This works really well with lower ability or younger pupils who require a little more support. They can score through the number they have used each time.
The boards were originally designed to be printed in A3 size so you may need to quickly adjust your printer settings to print in A4, which works fine too.
INSTRUCTIONS: Two children (or two pairs of children) take it in turns to write an answer over a times table question on the board. Ideally they use a different colour whiteboard pen, however if this is not possible they could add an initial or symbol each time too. First to get 4 in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - is the winner. The times tables questions are designed to print in faintish grey (on the black and white versions) or white (on the colour versions) so as not to get in the way of the children’s answers. It works especially well if pupils roll a dice to determine which column they should answer a question from. The columns are numbered 1-6. If the column is already completed, they could either miss a go or roll again.

A fun, strategic activity for consolidating this key money / financial / shopping skill. Ideal for maths lessons or Money Week skills practice. Originally designed for Key Stage 2 (KS2) Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 (Y3 / Y4 / Y5 / Y6) but might suit others. In Scotland, it’s for Primary 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Imagining that they pay for each item with £5, pupils use a different coloured whiteboard pen to record on the board the change due for each of their transactions or add an initial or symbol if both teams are using the same colour. I recommend printing in A3 but A4 is okay too. The LA versions have a star next to the title. Print on different coloured card or paper if required.
LOOP GAME / FOLLOW ME CARDS / DOMINOES
A 20-card set that can start with any card. A child reads the ‘I spend’ part first as they make their ‘purchase’ with others working out if they have the relevant ‘I give you’. Use as a game for groups or as a whole class starter or plenary (in pairs if necessary). LA pupils could be given less challenging cards so they can still experience success.

PRESENTATION AND FLASHCARDS
This 86 slide presentation introduces and reviews key vocabulary and phrases and includes basic reading comprehension tasks, speaking tasks such as role-plays and a 12-round interactive Reveal the Picture game. Many slides in the original PowerPoint version feature answers that appear when you click, for students to respond. An additional PDF version is included. While the PDF version does not retain the ability for teachers to reveal answers by clicking, it will still help you introduce and review this topic if you do not have PowerPoint where you work. Please note that the interactive Reveal the Picture game is not compatible with PDF and is therefore omitted from that version. Also within the Zip file is a PDF of flashcards, with two on each page. All leisure activities covered in the presentation feature in 4 versions - infinitive and first person versions (‘aller au parc’ / ‘Je vais au parc’), both with and without backgrounds.

WORKSHEETS AND CROSSWORD PUZZLE
6 worksheets (with answer keys). Worksheet 1-3 come in one-and two-star versions, with one-star being for lower ability, younger, or less experienced students. Worksheets 4 and 5 are basic comprehension worksheets, with 5 being a little more challenging. They feature different texts and could be used for differentiation or to provide progression for the same students if required. Worksheet 6 is a differentiated crossword puzzle where the clues involve students filling in the blanks in French hobbies phrases beginning with ‘J’aime…’. The one-star version contains a word bank for support. You can print or display the answer key for student self-checking if required.
ACTIVE ORAL CARD GAME
This is a game to get students out of their seats, having short conversations about recreational activities. There are 36 game cards (2 of each design). Students are given a card each and must move around the room, trying to find the player with the matching card. To find this, one player asks “Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire pendant ton temps libre?”. The other replies with the information on their card (e.g. “J’aime cuisiner et jouer du piano.”). The second player can then ask the same question or use “Et toi?” (“And you?”) before the first player replies with the two activities on their card. If their information matches, they could say “Moi aussi!” (“Me too!”). Students who find their match could sit down to make it easier for remaining players to find their match. Versions included with French and English prompts.

3 different game boards (2 standard boards for practice of hobbies phrases and one for saying how often we do activities). Print and laminate the ones you require. Works well in A3 (11 x 17) for larger groups but A4 (Letter) is good too.
FOUR IN A ROW GAMES
2 different game boards. Print and laminate. First to get four in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - wins. Students roll dice, then choose an activity word from that number column and say it in French. If correct, use a dry-wipe marker to put a symbol or initial in that box (opponents could use a different colour dry-wipe marker), and so on.
BINGO / TIC TAC TOE CARDS
Use these 16 different cards for a group game of Bingo in pairs (the teacher or a student could read out French hobby words) or Tic Tac Toe / Noughts and Crosses, with students taking it in turns to say aloud a French hobby word from their card. If cards are laminated, students could write on them with a dry-wipe marker.

Designed as a dice game, it can be used in other ways. As individuals, in pairs or in groups, students roll to find out which 3 words they must incorporate into a sentence (Instructions on cards). There are 6 groups of words on each card – openers/connectives, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and 2 groups of nouns. Students place the selected words anywhere in their sentence, as long as it makes sense, recording the sentence on paper or a mini whiteboard. You may wish to allow flexibility (changing verb tense, using the verb as an adjective etc.)
To cater for different situations and abilities, change the number of words they roll for, have students team up with a partner or select any words they want from the card. I encourage dictionary use for unfamiliar words and urge students to keep sentences they are especially proud of for use in longer pieces of writing. The activity might spark a whole story!
Print on card or paper and laminate for repeated use. With a smaller group, choose the ones you print and/or laminate cards back to back. Alternatively, display cards on the screen for whole class use.

An engaging alternative to worksheets, these no prep puzzles make ideal starter, early finisher or homework activities. They can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. These puzzles are similar to codebreaker puzzles, with a maths-related word to be revealed after completing the calculations. Each puzzle contains a grid. Within each box is a decimals, fractions or percentages calculation and a letter. Students circle any boxes containing errors. Then they put together the letters from the remaining boxes to reveal a maths word. On some puzzles there is a further challenge question / task at the bottom of the page linked to the hidden word.
Students often forget or avoid checking their own work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking the calculations in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves.

There are 3 PDF files in the Zip file, one with UK English spelling versions, one with US spelling, and a Canadian version. The Canadian version also has the word ‘marron’ to describe brown eyes replaced with ‘bruns’ in worksheet 7, the only place where this is relevant. Many other French speakers use ‘marron’, which is used on the version of worksheet 7 in the other files.

Upper Key Stage 2 (KS2) Y5 and Y6 perimeter games: 10 bingo / lotto game boards and 60 cards are included in this differentiated pack. There are 5 boards and 30 cards in two sets. ALL ANSWERS ARE INCLUDED. PDF format. In Scotland, this suits Second Level Maths, Primary 6 and 7.
Each child or pair has a board with 6 perimeter answers on it. The cards feature 2D shapes with the measurements of some sides marked on, which the children use to work out the perimeter. Children have a board each or per pair. I recommend having one perimeter shape card turned over at a time and all players working out if it matches the perimeter answer on their board.
Lower and higher ability versions both contain a variety of squares, rectangles, irregular quadrilaterals and triangles, while the two-star version also features compound shapes. The one-star version has more simple calculations to work out in metres. The two-star version includes decimal numbers and some conversion between centimetres and metres.
Answer cards are included for pupil self-checking or to help teachers assess. The cards can also be used separately from the bingo /lotto game, with individuals or pairs working out the perimeter and checking. They could perhaps time themselves to see how many they can correctly answer in 5 or 10 minutes. Or small groups could compete against each other to get the answer first, scoring a point if they manage it.
If you don’t need to use both versions at the same time, I recommend printing the boards back to back to save on card and laminating pouches. If using both sets of cards, I suggest printing them on different coloured card to help keep them separate.

Doubling and Halving 2 and 3 digit numbers printable game boards. These 10 printable Four in a Row games are ideal for Key Stage 2 (KS2), especially Year 4, 5 and 6 (Y4 / Y5 / Y6). Use as Maths starters / warm ups, early finishers activities etc. All boards (and answer grids) are included in color and black and white. The range of challenge across these games means they suit a range of grades or would be ideal for differentiation within the same class. In Scotland, it suits Second Level Maths, especially Primary 5, 6 and 7.
Includes:
A One Star game for both doubling and halving for younger or lower ability pupils - sidebars are included, featuring all answers, which children can strike through when used. However, I have also included these without the answer sidebars in case your students don’t need this added support. These games focus on lower 2-digit numbers and multiples of 10.
2 medium challenge doubling and halving boards (Two Stars), including some larger – and trickier – two and three digit numbers.
2 higher challenge doubling and halving boards (Three Stars). These feature mostly larger three digit numbers (and the halving of some four digit numbers).
Laminate and use again and again. Two players per board (or 4 if working in a pair). Printing in A3 is best for a larger group but A4 works too. Opponents take it in turns to double (or find half of – depending on which game they’re playing) a number on the board. Using a different coloured dry-wipe marker from each other, they mark the answer in the appropriate box. It works particularly well if they roll a dice to determine which column they must answer a question in (columns are numbered 1-6). If the column they’ve rolled has all been completed, they could either roll again or miss a go. If different coloured markers are not available, children could put their initial or a symbol next to their answer. First to correctly answer a line of 4 in a row – vertically, horizontally, diagonally – wins. Answer grids can be printed for students to self-check if required or they could use a calculator at the end to check if they are correct.

Vocabulary pages: There’s a word mat (over 2 pages) of French words with images for a core range of 21 jobs, together with a one-page list of these 21 jobs, and an expanded list with an additional 18 jobs. French job names are given for masculine and feminine versions where applicable. There’s also a table of key questions and sentences. These pages can also be used as prompts for classroom speaking activities. Please note that these vocabulary pages are also contained in my Les Métiers Games and Activities pack.
7 worksheets, all differentiated two ways using a star system. The one-star version is the least challenging, for lower ability, younger or less experienced students. Includes jumbled words, translation tasks, fill the blanks tasks and a short reading comprehension.
3 puzzles - There’s a grid puzzle, word hunt puzzle and hidden word puzzle. The first two puzzles are differentiated, with the first letter given for each word in the word hunt puzzle and some letters already entered into the easier grid puzzle.

“J’ai…Qui a…?” Loop Game: A speaking game for groups or the whole class. Print and laminate for repeated use. The 21 cards (featuring the smaller list of jobs) form a continuous loop so it doesn’t matter which one you start with.
Serpents et Echelles Game: Print and laminate for repeated use. Students say aloud the jobs in French when they land on them. Includes jobs from the expanded list.
“Quel est votre travail?” Active Oral Game: Card sets included with formal “votre” and informal “ton”. Print and laminate the cards you want to use. 36 cards in the set. Students have one card each and must move around the room, asking “Quel est votre travail?”, aiming to meet the person with the matching store card. Students must reply in French, using the image on their card.
Mime Game: A team game, where students mime jobs to make their team mates guess correctly in French.

A low-prep giant Roald Dahl crossword quiz puzzle, designed to be completed in groups, featuring 110 quiz style clues related to almost all Dahl's children's stories and poetry books and a few related to the writer's life. Fun Key Stage 1 Maths add and subtract cards, ideal for independent work in Year 1 and Year 2 (Y1 / Y2). This free sample includes 16 printable write and wipe trail cards for early finishers, lesson starters, warm ups and revision, which will also suit some Year 3 (Y3) and older KS2 students requiring consolidation, including those with ASN / SEN.
Regular practice using these resources will help to build speed and accuracy and they are an engaging change from standard worksheets.

Starting at the top illustration and working their way around the card in a spiral, children write the answer to each calculation in the box, creating a running total as they go. The final answer is printed at the end of the trail, beside the illustration in the middle of the card, so they can see if they have correctly completed it. If not, children can check their work to see where they have gone wrong.
