Language analysis Framework focuses on Top Band Answers For Edexcel English GCSE AO2.
I mark for Edexcel and top mark answers focus closely on language, analyse the interrelationship of language and structure and give multiple interpretations- this framework scaffolds for that.
Edexcel English Literature: Evaluating Themes, Ideas and Characters Planning Resource
Follows formlula of Where is the theme/event/ character relevant, how is it presented, why has the author done this and does it have contextual links.

How? Why? Context?,” model answers with marker commentary and writing frameworks.

Tips to answer the questions
Taught to my 11ab1, 27 resourced lessons on Macbeth with writing frames, sample answers and accessible self/peer assessment sheets for students to identify targets.
Lessons focusing on analysing language and structure and also answering the thematic question using where? how? why? context? Included planning sheet and step by step lesson. The thematic question lesson can be used again and again by just changing the theme/character question focus. When pupils are comfortable you can even just use the planning sheet printed on A3!
I mark for Edexcel and so use explicit targets linked to the mark scheme, focusing on answers that are perceptive, language driven and confident.
