This lesson follows AQA GCSE Biology specification for adaptations in the variation and evolution unit. The lesson is sufficiently scaffolded to support LPA/MPA students, however has aspects of challenge to push HPAs. Students love the visual nature of the lesson which supports long term retrieval. These lessons are an effective and balanced mixture of teacher-led explanation, student AFL, student exam questions and pair discussions. There is a scaffolded extended writing activity toward the end of the lesson.
