Hello fellow teachers, This booklet resource was created for my GCSE students during lockdown, I have found this to be a great way of ensuring that all students have what they need despite working in the classroom or at home. I have continued to use this resource now we have gone back to in school teaching and I have seen a significant improvement in students using religious information in their exam answers. Each student has a printed copy and then I upload a digitial copy online using Google Classroom so they have access at home too. The booklet contains: Title Page Contents Page Personal Learning Checklist using the Edexcel Specification B Core Knowledge Organiser Lessons 1-8 information including scripture Key word glossary Practice Exam Questions My year 11s can now use this booklet as a revision resource too as it contains everything that they need to go over core content. If you have any questions please feel free to drop me an email on lady_mel@hotmail.co.uk All the best, Melissa

Hello, These lessons are designed for topic 1 'Christian Beliefs' in the New Edexcel GCSE 'Religion and Ethics Through Christianity'. There are 2 as I have 2 hours per week however they can be condensed into 1 (which is what I have had to do to fast track my year 10s). The knowledge is based upon the book endorsed by the board written by Reid and Tyler (2016) but it is not needed for these lessons. All lessons include starter activity, learning objectives, progress checks, exam questions, reference to scripture and denominations if applicable. If you have any questions please do ask. Mel

The Six Beliefs of Sunni Islam - Muslim Beliefs EDEXCEL GCSE

GCSE RELIGIOUS STUDIES EDEXCEL / Specification B / Topic: Muslim Beliefs Lesson 1: The Six Beliefs of Sunni Islam This lesson has been designed for Spring Term 2020. It is for 1 hour with my year 10s but can easily be adapted to a double lesson. Due to only having 1 hour, I have created an information worksheet to go along with the Powerpoint slides so the students can focus on thinking skills rather than knowledge. I wanted my students to have a comprehensive information resource to use for their revision so we can focus on skills of analysis and evaluation within the lesson. I have based this lesson on the Edexcel endorsed textbook written by Waqar Ahmad Ahmedi. Students will not need this textbook to complete the lesson but I wanted to make you as the purchaser of this resource aware. My lessons have been rated ‘Outstanding’ within internal school reviews and by Oftsed, they have been downloaded over 18,000 times and I often receive personal emails from fellow RS teachers thanking me for sharing my work. I have also won ‘Secondary Teacher of the Year 2020’ in the Essex Teaching Awards. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me on my personal email @ lady_mel@hotmail.co.uk

Hello, I have created these lessons for the Edexcel GCSE RS Spec B ‘Religion and Ethics through Christianity’ topic 4 ‘Matters of Life & Death’. Each lesson contains starter task, core knowledge, activities, exam questions, scripture, Stretch & Challenge activities. Edexcel’s Scheme of Work recommends that we spend 2 hours on each subtopic so most are double lessons. However these can be condensed into 1 lesson if required. I had to do this with my current year 10s as I needed to fast track them whereas my year 9s have double the time. The lessons are based on the textbook written by Reid and Tyler - this is needed for some lessons. I have also included a double sided key knowledge revision sheet and Personal Learning Checklist. If you do have any questions please do ask, Mel

Gender Identity - OCR H180/H580

Hello, I have planned this lesson for the OCR Sociology 2015 Spec - Component 1 Section A: Gender Identity. I have used the textbook endorsed by the board (Brisbane et al, 2015) and the Student Guide (Chapman, 2016). You do not need the textbook for the lesson as all information required is on the slides. The lesson includes starter activity, learning objectives, progress checks, exam questions, lots of engaging videos and images throughout, plenary, class worksheet, homework reading summary worksheet (textbook needed). Learning objectives are: 1. To explain how gender identities are created, including agencies of socialisation. 2. To apply evidence to understand different aspects of an individual’s identity, their relative importance to individuals and ways in which they may intersect. 3. To assess how gender identities are changing. If you have any questions please do ask and I will help soon as possible. Kind regards, Mel
