Evaporation Year 7 Lesson PowerPoint (KS3 7Ec)

(0)
This full lesson PowerPoint (including practical activity) can be used to teach a broad range of abilities about evaporation and boiling, and how to evaporate the solvent from a solution. This lesson assumes that students have already had a lesson to train them in lighting and using Bunsen burners. If this has not been done, I have a suitable lesson available in my shop entitled “Science Practical Skills - Using Bunsen Burners”. The lesson is in keeping with the current KS3 UK National Curriculum, is easily accessible for students and simple to follow for teachers.

Endothermic and Exothermic Reactions GCSE Practical Lesson (SC19a CC15a)

(1)
Full Lesson PowerPoint (including equipment list and practical instructions) sufficient to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on performing Exothermic and Endothermic reactions, and measuring temperature change in those reactions. The lesson builds in a small iPad research segment which could easily be substituted with textbooks/reference books if iPads are not available. For full coverage of reaction profiles and bond energies see my follow-up lesson CC15b/SC19b “Endothermic & Exothermic Reactions + Bond Energy”. This resource is accessible for students, easy for technicians and teachers to follow and is appropriate for Combined and Triple Science classes, Foundation and Higher tiers.

GCSE Chemistry COMPLETE Outline & Equipment List: Year 10 + 11 Edexcel 9-1 Combined & Triple Science

(2)
This provides an overview of all lessons needed to complete the Edexcel 9-1 Combined Science and Chemistry (Triple Science) courses. The document outlines what to teach in each lesson (sufficient to fully cover the new specification) and lists equipment for practical lessons wherever needed. Importantly, this document highlights which lessons are Higher Tier only and which are Triple Science only (many schools struggle to grasp this fully). I have found this order of teaching to be effective for gradually building skills and knowledge across two years. Moreover, it nicely breaks up the theory and practical-based topics. Please leave a brief review if you find this overview useful - thanks! BTW, all of these lessons have PowerPoints that can be purchased from my shop and the worksheets are generally available for free (unless copyright protected). Almost all of my lessons are also available in discounted bundles, just browse my shop - OnSpecScience.
