Le jour de la Saint-Valentin

(13)
A resource pack in French based around St Valentine’s Day for Years 7 to 11. Variety of worksheets (wordsearch/spot the difference) so you have something for each year group every year. There is a cover page for each year group so you could print separate booklets. I’ve found a typo: amoureuz should be amoureux - apologies! Amusez-vous bien. I will not be editing this resource any more because: …this resource has been upgraded. You can find my year-group specific work booklets here: https://www.tes.com/resources/search/?authorId=232746&q=Valentine%27s%20Day&shop=Polly_Glott These grow in complexity across the year groups and use language your learners will probably already familiar with as well as Valentine’s vocabulary. This means the booklets are great as an end of half-term or cover resource.

Year 7 French Christmas Worksheets (C'est Noël)

(1)
A selection of Christmas vocabulary learning sheets for Year 7. They should fill at least one whole lesson. If you like this, have a look at my pack of Christmas resources for Years 7 to 11. You’ll never need to scrabble around for different stuff as each year group has different content overall so can be used each year. (A wise investment.) May also be useful for cover lessons around Christmas time.

French Jobs Les Emplois
Polly_GlottPolly_Glott

French Jobs Les Emplois

(0)
The jobs/les emplois topic in French is consolidated with jobs vocab’ presented through picture and word matching, puzzles, * reading comprehensions*, scaffolded writing, independent writing tasks with cues. It goes well with Studio 3, Module 3, although supplementary vocabulary is included, and includes a PowerPoint and PDF version. If you have introduced learners to the French jobs topic, this is the ideal resource for you. You can use it to consolidate prior learning. If you haven’t taught the topic, use this resource for them to work out or deduce the vocabulary themselves. The resource works around ‘Les Emplois’ and introduces vocabulary beginning with simple picture and word matching, moving steadily through reading tasks, guided writing tasks and ending with independent writing. Although prior knowledge is assumed, a three page vocabulary list is included to help. Some research on vocabulary and structures might be needed, depending on the ability of your learners. The work booklet can be used by you with learners in the classroom or by the learners if they are distance learning. The answer pages are given after the main work packet and therefore may be printed separately or given when needed, rather than in one go to learners. Sample answers are given for writing tasks since, as I’m sure you will understand, responses can vary considerably. A black and white version is included. Other uses for the packet included using the sheets separately for starter tasks or cover lessons, even homework. Further study could include a research project about part-time jobs of French youths. Tasks include: reading comprehensions scaffolded writing gap-fills independent writing task with cues puzzles If you find this resource useful, please do leave a review. I also have lots of other low or no prep’ resources in French and Spanish. They can be found here in my TES shop: [https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/Polly_Glott] Happy teaching!

Travail en groupe: les maisons

Travail en groupe: les maisons

(0)
Group activity. Once pupils familiar with vocabulary to describe houses, this can be attempted. First activity: fill in the sheet with the boxes by reading the letter text. Next, each group has a colour picture of a house and tries to create a description of it. They can then present the description to the class who can (hopefully) work out which house they are describing.

La maison
Polly_GlottPolly_Glott

La maison

(0)
La Maison A French group activity to help describe your house. Décrit sa maison How does it work? First, give everyone a copy of the text. Learners start by filling in the literacy sheet on this. Next, randomly give out the pictures which you (of course in all that spare time you’ve got…) have printed and cut up. Learners then use the text as a basis for writing by working as a group. They can then present their writing to the class at the end. The class try to work out which property they have described and give reasons why. Alternatively… not in the mood for group work? Give each learner a picture to do the writing individually. Or even in pairs! Bon courage…
