This lesson examines how the success of the Montgomery bus boycott led to the 1957 Civil Rights Act as well as the formation of the Southern Christian Leadership Council. Students assess the impact of the Civil Rights Act and also have an opportunity to contrast two different interpretations. It will also ask the students to explain the importance of the fall of the Berlin Wall for the end of the Soviet Union by 1991.
