Looking for some decent, engaging science resources? Look no further! I studied in Nottingham for my undergraduate degree in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry, and then completed my Master's in the same field. I completed my teacher training at the same university, and now I currently teach 11-18 year olds at a school in Richmond-upon-Thames. I am currently the Head of Chemistry at a school in SW London. Periodic (Periodic Table Song)

This is a song I have released on YouTube to help students with the understanding of the Periodic Table. It is a brand new song, not disimilar to the periodic table song release by ASAP science, among others.

Climate Change - Full Lesson

(1)
This lesson is built around the themes in the novel: “Swimming Against the Storm”, however doesn’t need to be taught alongside it. It is designed to last a double lesson, and features many videos and conversation points to engage students in this climate debate. It is geared towards our local area of Richmond towards the end, but this can be changed. We are starting a BIG READ project in my academy trust, and so this will be the first lesson we do in science (and other faculties first lessons in Y7 will also be related to this book)

KS3 C2.1.1 Metals and Non metals

This lesson goes through the differences of metals and non-metals, by way of a practical circus. The equipment needed is listed on the first slide, with sheets explaining each station within the powerpoint (and printable tables for students to complete). This lesson also begins to highlight the arrangement of the periodic table.

OCR A 2.1.3, 2.1.4 - Acids, bases, and titrations

(0)
This lesson recaps the fundamentals of acids, bases, and neutralisation from GCSE - ready for you to jump into a titration between hydrochloric acid and sodium hydrogencarbonate (PAG). A sheet is provided for students to work through for this practical, and another sheet provided for teachers to know which areas of the curriculum are covered (these are just condensed sheets based off of what is available from OCR). The presentation demonstrates how to calculate the unknown concentration of HCl.

This advice is taken from our website’s recent blog post about revision () so that you can print it up and distribute to students. It is geared towards science (specifically chemistry), however it is relevant to all subjects!
