A science teacher since 2008 and exam board assessor (GCSE & Alevel) I bring all my experience together to create fun educational resources that can be easily taught to any class. My resources are designed to teach content, build understanding and increase exam skills. There are many differentiated resources within the complete lessons and revision sets.

My resources are designed to teach content, build understanding and increase exam skills. There are many differentiated resources within the complete lessons and revision sets.
This fun and informative complete lesson covers all content from AQA specification content on ‘metabolism’.
Using a detailed and engaging PowerPoint the students work their way through the content with a range of whole class quizzes, paired and individual activities. The range of challenges encourage students to learn new key words. The lesson structure challenges students to apply their new knowledge to exam style questions whilst also giving them expert exam tips. There are also some notes to support the teaching of this topic.
Included in the PowerPoint & worksheet are the following activities:
Begins with a warm up task - recalling biological molecules from unit 2 organisation.
Thought provoking questions drawing on students prior knowledge.
Differentiated tasks all in one - there are slides with clues on that will appeal to both higher level students (e.g. chemical structure of glucose) and foundation (linking biological molecules to food tests from unit 2 organisation).
Differentiated ‘fill the gap’ activity, I create give me a clue sheets which contain more information (less gaps to fill) to support less able students or those with SEN.
Fun guess the word before it appears and ‘say what you see’ activities.
Final activity further application of lesson & linking to prior units in exam style question.
The lesson should take about 1 hour but can be adapted to different timings.
You should find the lesson is totally self-explanatory in that you can simply click through, and it flows through the content. My students have really enjoyed all the lessons in this unit so far, so I hope yours do too!

AQA specification 4.1.1 Cell structure, 4.1.1.1 Eukaryotes & 4.1.1.2 Animal and plant cells.

Designed for teachers to deliver (specialist and non-specialists) but I have found more & more students need to access resources independently so my lessons are structured in a way that students can navigate for remote learning or to catch up on missed content. Can also be used for a flipped learning approach.
Lesson contains:
Concise learning objectives - referred to through the lesson to check learning has occurred.
Define the keyword eukaryote (uses precise specification language to be correct for final GCSE exam)
Recap on KS3 knowledge leading to the correct labelling of both plant and animal cell diagrams (worksheet 1).
Fun ‘Treasure hunt’ activity to learn about the function of each cell organelle. (worksheet 2, PowerPoint document).
Followed by independent ‘Superhero’ organelle activity.
Use and develop exam skills to describe and explain the role of organelles, extension question to compare structures and functions of plant and animal cells.
Plenary – there are 2 options, If your students have access to IT equipment send them a copy of the excel document (worksheet 3)which is a self-assessing sheet, giving students immediate feedback in a fun way! The other option is a quick quiz on the following slide (consisting of the same questions just delivered differently).

The lessons are designed to be straight forward for the teacher to deliver (whether you are an ECT or non-specialist) and engaging for your students. Learning objectives are used to monitor learning and all questions have detailed answers. Just click through, and the lessons flows through the content.
There are lots of opportunities for your students to develop and practise their understanding and exam skills. There is both scaffolding and challenge so differentiation runs throughout (most of my classes are mixed ability so I am used to have to both nurture and extend at the same time!) .

Emphasis on structure of glucose - I use molymods to model alpha and beta glucose but the lesson will work without these if you don’t have them.
Learn the three monosaccharides specified in the spec.
A range of different challenges to develop understanding and familiarity with the content.
Understanding the formation of glycosidic bonds and move onto the formation of disaccharides.
Final activity is a question to give students the opportunity to apply there learning from the lesson.
Includes detailed answers to all tasks, plus notes to support non-specialists.
