Patterns and Sequences
A full lesson on sequences and patterns.
It start by looking at finding missing terms, moves on to the nth term of a sequence before moving on to applying nth term algebra to problems involving pictures.

Percentage of Amounts Puzzle
A percentage puzzle I produced where pupils need to answer the questions on the cards then arrange them from small to big. The letters form a riddle for the pupils to solve.
I had the pupils work in groups for 4, it is a good consolidation activity or a starter before looking at another percentage topic.
The solution to the riddle is 'age'.

Proportion Team Quiz
Break the class in half and each team take it in term to answer questions and gather points by answering a question square then clicking on it.
Covers proportion including the unitary method.

Substitution Catchphrase
SImple catchphrase puzzle on smart notebook covering some basic elements of substitution.

Introduction to simplifying expressions
Here a lesson designed for lower attaining key stage 3 student as an introduction to simplifying algebraic activities. Contains a range of different activities.

Estimating Lengths
An interesting lesson based around pupils trying to estimate lengths. Nice starter based on estimating some strange lengths with multiple choice answers.
At the end there is a task where pupils have to work in small groups to create strips of certain lengths.

KS3 Single Bracket and Simplifying Match Cards
KS3 activtiy where pupils are required to collect like term to match up expressions then an extension where pupils are required to expand a single bracket and match it up a expression.

Area - thoughts and crosses
An activity for pupils to play in pairs based on blooms. Just as in normal noughts and crosses pupils need to make a line of 3, but instead of nought and crosses they must write their answer in a noughts and crosses grid.
As an extension for those who finish I get them to work as a pair to complete the rest of the grid.

KS3 Maths: Algebra Activity - Function Machines
Think of a number (algebraic proof)This is a collection of resources I made for a lesson to introduce the idea of algebraic proof to a year 7 class. I gave prep sheet for homework, then we completed proof as class. Using 'blob and dot algebra' then real algebra. Pupils then made their own puzzles and a poster.
They really enjoyed it!

Similar Triangles (Height of a building)
Here is a lesson on similar triangles where pupils need to calculate scale factors. It starts with pupils using it to calculate the height of a building and looking at some examples. Before pupils trying some differentiated questions then applying the skills to 2D and 3D objects.
I have included teacher hints on the IWB showing where to click things please delete these out.

Area and Perimeter of a triangle
A full lesson with learning plan and IWB (smart notebook) on area and perimeter of traingles. Contains differentiated questions and printable progress and plenary cards and a nice sorting activity depending on whether they are given its area or perimeter.

Maths problems
Each set of problems contains 3 maths problems which I have pulled together from a number of books and websites. Problem 1 is easy, problem 2 is medium and problem 3 is hard.
We printed them big on A3 coloured green, orange and red to make a display with pupils submitting their solutions.
