Organizational Skills School Transition SEL

Organizational Skills Resource I made this resources specifically to work on a 1:1 basis with a child who struggled with organization and self management. The resource includes: 8 day plan cards - The day plan cards describe a school day (including certain lessons and activities) 16 item cards - A collection of items that a child may put in their school bag Empty school bag template Instructions: Cut out all of the day plan cards and item cards. Your child will pick a day plan card and read it. Your child will then identify which of the 16 items to put on the school bag template to prepare for the day. The resource is about encouraging organization and thinking skills. It’s super simple for children to understand and engage with. This resource also works well for children transitioning from elementary to middle school and preparing them for the additional responsibility and expectation to organize themselves more. The resource is A4 and completely editable so you can change any of the terminology and lesson names to match your school. Many thanks - Science House.

Social Emotional Learning Wellbeing Feelings Check In

(0)
Social Emotional Learning Check In Sheets Included: Emotions and feelings sheet - students select any of the 24 different feelings by circling them. The feelings are represented by child friendly images to encourage engagement. They can then rate the feeling 1 to 5 depending on the intensity of the feeling. Emotional reasoning sheet - students select any of the 20 different reasons for their feelings by circling them. The reasoning is broad with a box at the bottom for students to add additional reasons or elaborate. They can then rate the reason 1 to 5 depending on how much this reason is affecting their feelings and emotions. This resource is a great quick check in tool, which supports children in describing their feelings in a simple and accessible manner. It is helpful for students who struggle expressing themselves verbally and are often not confident in talking about their feelings. I use this resource on a weekly basis, students become familiar with the check in and more confident in filling it out and communicating their emotions. Ideal to be printed and laminated, so it can be used repeatedly too. Ideal for a wide range of ages. Resources are in American English.

Ecosystems Revision Game

Ecosystem Keyword Spin Wheel Revision Resource This resource encompasses 12 keywords from the ecosystems unit. These are keywords selected as they occur regularly and are classically challenging for students to define. Example keywords from the spin wheel resource: Ecosystem, Adaptation, Co-exist, Interdependent, Habitat, Predator, Prey, Biodiversity etc. . . Also included in the resource is a full answer set. There is also an instructions sheet, with helpful guidance on using the spin wheel as a revision tool, student answer sheet and a ‘tick and repeat sheet’. This encourages the student to revisit the spin wheel to revise the keywords until they reach the ‘know it’ level. Very simple preparation: Print the sheets (set up in A4 PDF). The students can then cut out the pin wheel for themselves and push a pen or pencil through the middle for the wheel to spin around. I found clamp stands to be a useful alternative.
