Starter - Thinking tasks getting the students to think about half lives but without actually talking about them
Main - Introduce a half life, then get the students to do a practical to get half life data which they plot, then calculate the half life.
Plenary - Graph interpretation and exam questions
Practical task into amplitude and pitch using rulers. Students have to be able to describe any sound in terms of amplitude and pitch by the end of the lesson
6 questions, students have to use the information posters (which contain red herrings) to get the correct answers. First person back with a correct answer to a question gets 10 points, 9 for the next etc.
Lesson starts with a couple of questions on previous topics to check embedded understanding.
Students are then taught about matter and antimatter, with worked examples of pair production and annihilation. Students are then to complete a worksheet which includes exam questions. All the answers are on a worked sheet.
