This has been designed for Upper KS2 or KS3 and would be perfect for the end of year (perhaps after testing) and the children really enjoy it. The basic idea is that the children take an existing song and change the lyrics. They then sing it to the karaoke version of the song which can easily be obtained from YouTube. This project guides them through the whole process.

To get as far away from the dogs as possible, you decide to go forwards – walking through the shallow water because you believe that it will help to disguise your scent should those animals return to hunt you down. This maths adventure for upper KS2 comes in four parts. It could be completed over several lessons or given as homework over several weeks. The ideas is that the children have to solve a maths problem before the teacher will give them the next sheet. It is well written and engaging. THIS RESOURCE IS ALSO AVAILABLE AS A POWERPOINT. Make learning your times tables a bit more fun with Ultimate Times Tables Bingo. -Includes 32 unique bingo cards - in black and white AND colour. -Has the answers to tables up to 12 x 12. -Each number (product) also shows the number of ways that it can be made with a smaller number next to it in brackets. This could be used to support work on probability. -Children can choose their own number not already on their bingo card. The best option would be to choose either 12 or 24 (which ever of the two is not already on it) because both of these numbers have six ways of making them. -These bingo cards are fair since every card has exactly the same chance of winning - until they choose their own number. This is because there are exactly 25 different ways of making the 11 numbers already on each bingo card. If they choose either 12 or 24 as their last number, there will be 31 ways altogether. -Also includes 1 - 12 cards. Cut these out and use these to choose the times tables. Make sure that you replace the cards between choosing the first and second numbers or print two sets. This could easily be used in small groups in the classroom with minimal photocopying. Sound of Music Activities

Sound of Music Activities

(1)
It might be over 50 years old, but this film truly has something for everyone. It is also very useful to look at what people are really thinking which can feed into their writing. This resource includes 32 activities / points for discussion (including 6 writing activities) for the first 1 hour and 45 minutes of the film. I would not suggest that you use all of them, but choose the ones you like the most. I would also suggest that after the Intermission the children should just watch the last hour or so of the film uninterrupted. I have not included any activities for the last part of the film. The times of relevant scenes are included throughout this resource so you can locate them easily. You could easily use this as a basis of your literacy for a week - perhaps more. INCLUDES FREE A REAL MYSTERIES PROJECT: THE MYSTERIOUS TIME TRAVELLER. THIS FIVE PAGE WRITING PROJECT IS BASED ON A REAL EVENT - ALTHOUGH THE CHILDREN DON’T FIND THIS OUT UNTIL THE END.
