Mental Maths Workout (Addition)

(0)
These sheets encourage the children to add numbers mentally from left to right - which is often the quickest way if you need to add the numbers quickly in your head. Perfect for KS2. Step 1 Add the tens digits together. Add one more if you can see that the ones add up to 10 or more. Step 2 Add the ones and write down just the last digit. Step 3 Put the two digits together to get the answer. Each sheet has a couple of questions in bold for which you just add the tens and ones digits up i.e. the ones digits do NOT produce an answer greater or equal to ten. ALSO INCLUDES ‘PLEASE CORRECT MY ADDITION’. THESE FOUR SHEETS GET THE CHILDREN TO BECOME THE TEACHER AND CORRECT A PIECE OF FINISHED WORK. THERE IS EVEN A SPACE FOR THEM TO LEAVE A COMMENT!

Photosynthesis Story

Extract Meet Phyll. He’s really pleased to meet you, but you might not know it from looking at him because today he’s a bit grumpy. Perhaps you have days like that – days when you are so tired that even smiling takes a lot of effort. This is a fun way to teach the children about photosynthesis and will help the them remember it as well. Yes, it is silly and doesn’t really make much sense, but that will make it all the more memorable! The children will enjoy trying to work it out. If you double-side the four sheets, you can fold the pages to create an A5 booklet. It includes what are probably some of the world’s worst illustrations - ever! INCLUDES FREE 7MM AND 10MM LINE GUIDES / WRITING FRAMES. THIS IS A SELECTION OF WRITING FRAMES WHICH COULD BE USED FOR DISPLAY WORK. INCLUDES VARIATIONS OF THREE COMMON FORMATS WITH DIFFERENT THICKNESSES AND STYLES OF LINES.
