This is a lesson created for remote learning. It is the first in a series of work called DANCE THROUGH THE DECADES where students will study a range of styles from various era’s. In this first lesson students are asked to study the CHARLESTON, they are given a brief to create a series of information sources for a new exhibition and the lesson focuses around the key stylistic features of the style through watching and writing about it. This is an introduction to the new 2021 Component 3 brief for the BTEC TECH award in Performing Arts. Designed for students to be taught and work remotely the ppt has an introduction to the 2021 brief, some top tips and three exploration tasks for students to begin their initial research/ideas generating.

This resource has been used most successfully with our current y8/9 students. It is a SOW at desks so classroom based but with fun activities for students to take part it with some movement at desks in some tasks. The SOW explores the following Lesson 1- Stylistic Features of professional repertoire. Lesson 2- Dance skills Lesson 3- Types of Stimuli Lesson 4- Responding to a brief Lesson 5- Interactive Quiz Lessons can be split as there is a lot of content, lesson 3 and 4 inparticular you could spread across 2 lessons each making a longer SOW The bundle also features a knowledge organiser that students can use for home learning and there is a DO NOW task students can complete in books at the start of each lesson. This Rosas Danst Rosas bundle includes ppt resources and sheets needed for an engaging set of practical and theory based lessons. This has worked wonderfully for our KS4 BTEC students during the COVID restrictions and is perfect for social distancing. It could however be a really fantastic SOW for KS3. The SOW also features an opportunity for students to look at the Beyonce Plagiarism scandal and create a piece mirroring Rosas to the Beyonce track which students have LOVED

This SOW was created to meet the COVID safety guidelines whilst we teach Dance in a classroom. The entire SOW is adapted so students are doing practical work at a desk throughout. Our y7 students have loved this BUT could easily be used for other ks3 year groups too! We used the Spinners and Dice available from YPO as resources to accompany this although this could easily work with a home made spinner or coloured sticks etc. This comes complete with a knowledge organiser, DO NOW task sheets and a full Dance Vocabulary Quiz for students to be tested on their knowledge. It also comes with a bingo grid for students to track progress and for teachers to mark. The booklet attached is for Performing arts so only the DANCE section (the first few pages is used)

These are lessons 3 and 4 of the Diversity Black Lives Matter scheme of work and look at Using RADS to come up with choreography from a moodboard and then Physical and Expressive skills. The first 2 lessons and resources are free on my store

This resource was created for teaching y8 and 9 dance students in classrooms. The choreography was modified and performed sat at desks but this could be quite easily used in a studio where students can dance more freely. This is an activity designed for students to work from home. I have set my y9 the challenge of completing 1 per week but you could challenge students to complete a line or full house. Adaptable so you can change the tasks on here to anything else.

This resource features a planning sheet and an accompanying ppt to prepare students for the Component 3 Ideas Log exam. The ppt talks students through a PIE structure to enhance the detail in student responses and features a fun peer assessment feature. The planning sheet also includes a structured page for students to add their bulletpoints to in preparation for the exam.

A ppt to launch the 2020 BTEC TECH Component 3 theme with grade breakdowns, top tips and some practical examples and helpful ideas to get started. The ppt also features a breakdown of overall grades so students can understand the importance of component 3 to their overall grade.

This resource features an exam PPT launch that is used with y10/11 drama and dance students, it has a breakdown of the criteria, top tips for the exam, an introduction to the stimulus for 2020 as well as a few practical ideas for pieces that we feel would meet the criteria fully, the ppt justifies how the ideas would hit each element of the brief. Grade calculator for BTEC TECH

This is a document that calculates overall grade based on achievement in units on the BTEC TECH award.

This is part one of a CATS production route booklet that i have made for students studying the BTEC TECH route. The booklet features introductions, space for students to complete moodboard tasks and face plans to complete initial designs and make final choices for their work. There is also a section for them to research techniques etc and include photos of their attempts. This has suited some of my weakest students really well.

This resource is a task for students to create a knowledge organiser based on the Physical Skills needed in Dance. It includes the task and a helpful ppt of information that they can use to help them get started. THis was useful in helping students to be able to understand the Physical Skills before they had to really use that knowledge in their milestone reviews/evaluations of themselves/peers

This is a template that i gave to students as part of their studies on 5 Soldiers. There is a storyboard complete with 8 key scenes in the production. Students must watch the live feed performance and describe the movement, set, lighting and costume in each scene. This allows them to meet the Component 1 Criteria in exploring the features of the piece and how costume, set, lighting and movement choices contribute to the overall piece. A help sheet is included with an example for each section and some helpful tips.

This bundle includes PPTs for all of the 5 Soldiers workshop lessons that I deliver. There are links to the live feed on youtube with appropriate timings so that students can watch the section. There are teacher links to material to learn for delivery in the workshops and there are also slides that can be printed to aid the activities and tasks. Each task has a progress and progress+ task criteria which helps to drive challenge.
