This is a 2-day project (for 50 minute classes) that requires Spanish 1 students to demonstrate their understanding of prepositions of location with house furniture objects and they are guaranteed to love it! Students use their knowledge of prepositions of location to write questions and answers about "Donde esta el gato?" For example "Esta el gato delante de la puerta?" "No, el gato esta detras de la puerta." They then get to paste clipart to show their answer and the furniture items are designed to pop-out off the page. This project provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate understanding on a variety of topics in any Spanish 1 curriculum and allows them to write about their favorite topic - themselves! This zip folder includes a rubric outlining each sentence students must write, a rough draft, and a Teacher's Guide with suggestions for how to guide students through the project. This project was originally created for a curriculum used with Expresate!, but each document is a Word file, so they can be edited for any curriculum or even another language. This project requires students to write a story including their name, how old they are, a description with adjectives, what they like to do, classes they have and what they need for school, who they live with, describing family members, chores they have to do, what they like to eat, daily routine activities, and what they wear in each season. I have students create this project on paper, however this could easily be done on powerpoint or another format.
